Graveside services for Mary “Mama Lou” Hopper, 83, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Amber Cemetery.

Mary Lou (Smith) Hopper was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on April 8, 1932 to Charlie and Hattie (Stanley) Smith. She died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Chickasha.

Mary was raised in Chickasha. After her marriage to Harold Hopper on August 24, 1957 in Lawton, they moved to West Helena, Arkansas. She returned to Oklahoma in 1979.

She owned Lou’s Lounge in Chickasha and was known as “Mama Lou” by all her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lucy Mae Ferguson, and seven brothers, Wesley, Willie, Carl, Monroe, Floyd, and Pheldon Smith and Leon Johnston.

Survivors are her daughter, Rebecca Sue Hopper; grandson, Brian Travis Hopper; great-granddaughter, Kamdyn Makaela Hopper; special friends, Ron and Doris Ozee; sisters-in-law, Stella Smith and Alma Smith; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
