HUEY HADLEY married 1. Alice Sue (Smith) Hadley Monk Allen and had one daughter, Marilyn Hadley, and a son, James Everette Hadley, who died at the age of 2-1/2 years. They adopted a son, Courtney Hadley. Huey married 2. Carolyn Brownlee of Calhoun, LA.

Funeral services for Mr. Huey A. Hadley, 76 of Calhoun, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Bo Home officiating and assisted by Rev. Vernon Ford, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Huey passed away Wednesday night at Bernice Nursing and Rehab Center in Bernice, Louisiana after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
Huey was born on October 18, 1930 in Winnsboro, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Martin and Mclntyre Hadley; brothers, Dan Ryals and James Hadley. Mr. Hadley was a retired Monroe City District Chief Firefighter, having served the City of Monroe for 38 years, from 1950 to 1988. After retirement, Huey worked for many years in air conditioning and repairs until his Alzheimer's forced him to quit. Even while confined to a wheelchair Huey still enjoyed trying to "fix things." He will be remembered by his kindness, sweet nature, love and generosity.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-one years, Carolyn Brownlee Hadley, of Calhoun; daughters, Marilyn Withers of West Monroe, LA, Jessica H. Douthit and husband, Lance of West Monroe, LA; sons, Courtney Hadley, of West Monroe, LA, Matthew Hadley and wife, Dana, of West Monroe, LA; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a sincere and heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff of Bernice Nursing and Rehab Center, Agape' Northwest Hospice of Ruston, and Dr. Shaw and Dr. Harris of Tri-Ward Clinic and Hospital in Bernice for their excellent compassion and care.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
