William Boyle was of Irish origin. He was born to Richard and Margaret (Daley) Boyle, in Pilkington, Wellington, Canada West. He married Dorcas Trask in Peel, Wellington County on 10 Jan 1859. They became the parents of ten children, moving gradually westward in Ontario, where William worked as both a farmer and a carpenter, and finally settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. William Boyle died in Saskatchewan on 28 Sep 1903. He was buried in Carberry Cemetery, as was his wife Dorcas.
