She believed that the secret to living to 96 involved keeping busy and lots of chocolate.

Theresa still drove and organized the bus trips to Atlantic City. She delighted in bringing her family together and cooked Italian from scratch. Her smile kept everyone else smiling and she was an eternal optimist: 'Things will work out.' She'd always say. She was a high-energy grandmother, baking cookies and dancing with the young ones. Her yard was always bright with flowers, Theresa had a green thumb.

If her T.V. was on she'd probably be checking out some game shows. She kept up with technology even if she mixed up terms every now and then: instead of a DVD player Theresa might call it an SUV.

Throughout her life, even when times were tough, she used her thrifty nature to make sure things got done.

A young Theresa Cutitta met a guy at a Fort Dix dance. The late Leonard went off to war in Europe, but they married when he returned. They were blessed with three children, Leonard Jr., the late Richard, and Joseph (Andrea); grandchildren, Brian, John, Laura and Stephanie and a great granddaughter, Alabama. She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Cutitta. and was pre-deceased by brothers, Nat, Pat and Frank.

Come celebrate 96 great years Saturday 8-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 at Parish of the Resurrection, St. Casimir Church, Riverside. Interment St. Peter Cemetery, Riverside.
