Daughter of Joseph and Ann Jacobs. She was born in Fairfax County, Virginia and married James Edwards c. 1751. Sarah and James had 10 children and moved to Washington, KY on Dec. 09, 1786. James Edwards founded Aberdeen, Ohio in April, 1795 and they moved across the river to make their home in the newly acquired Northwest Territory.

She was buried in the Old Aberdeen Cemetery, located on his property, however, this cemetery was washed away after the Ohio River flood in 1937.

Her maiden name was NOT Everett. This has been debunked by Helen Hinchliff and proven to be Jacobs by her son-in-law, John West Jr. The name Everett was a fictious name generated by the Stone Brothers, great-grandsons of James Edwards, who doctored the family tree in 1878 to attempt to obtain a fraudulent fortune in New York. It was known as the Edwards' Heirs Hoax. Please stop perpetuating this hoax by using this name in your records.
