DODGEVILLE - Mrs. Ruth Kessler, 43, wife of the publisher of the Dodgeville Chronicle, L. R. Kessler, died Saturday at a hospital here following an operation.
Mrs. Kessler was the former Ruth Sims, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Sims, and was born in Dodgeville.
She was graduated from the high school here in 1910 and for five years served as bookkeeper and chief operator at the telephone exchange here.
In 1916, she was graduated from a Rockford, Ill., business school, returning to Dodgeville to become bookkeeper at the Chronicle and the First National bank.
In 1923, she married Mr. Kessler.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Queen Esther society.
