Records indicate Charles and son Emil are buried in Rompel 1 Cemetery on what was formerly known as the Rompel Ranch. No headstones. Charles wife Pauline Weilbacher Rompel is buried at Mission Burial Park South.

Charles immigrated with his parents and 6 siblings through the port in Galveston, TX December 31, 1846 and made their way to Comal County, TX.

He enlisted in the Union Army Texas Company A, 1st Calvary Regiment in 1862 along with his twin brothers Eduard and Alwin.

Charles married Pauline Weilbacher August 24, 1873. They had 6 known children.

Pauline was born March 29, 1854 in Wurttemberg, Germany. She immigrated with her parents and 6 siblings through the port in New Orleans, LA October 21, 1869. She passed October 10, 1948 in Bexar County, TX.
