Vivian Eleanor Frieburg was born July 21, 1916 in Milnor, North Dakota the daughter of Elmer and Jenny (Benrud) Abrahamson. She attended and graduated from the Milnor High School in 1934. She then attended North Dakota State School of Science and after graduating was employed as a medical secretary for Dr. Reiswig in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Vivian was united in marriage to Marvin Frieburg on March 10, 1946 in Wahpeton, North Dakota. The couple then lived in Wahpeton, Fergus Falls, Walhalla and Rugby, North Dakota until moving to Alexandria in 1968.
Vivian loved to do volunteering at the Douglas County Hospital, First Lutheran Church and the Knute Nelson Memorial Home. She also enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, bowling and cooking. Vivian died at the St. Cloud Hospital on May 6, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Marvin (Bud) Abrahamson.
Vivian is survived by husband: Marvin of Alexandria; sons: Mark (Virginia) of Olympia, Washington; Rick of Brooklyn Park; daughter Jan Frieburg of Richfield; grandchildren; Krista of Olympia, WA; Melissa (Jeff) Kimball of Spokane, WA; and great grandchildren; Asia and Jovani Kimball.
A Memorial Service was held May 10, 2002 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Shelly Olson officiating. Inurnment was in the Kinkead Cemetery and Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
