Funeral service for Ava Jean Birmingham, age 85, of Garland, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel, Sulphur Springs with Randy Daw officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery with Matt Coker, Charles Foreman, Charles Amyx, Rick Coker, Jacob Hall and Sonny Taylor serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, August 31, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Birmingham passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Broadmoor Medical Lodge, Rockwall, Texas.
Ava Jean (Taylor) Birmingham was born on December 11, 1931 the daughter of Johnny Christopher and Ada Leona (Patton) Taylor. Ava married Eulas Ray Birmingham in Divide Community on July 29, 1949. She worked in accounting for Anthem Life Insurance Company for 35 years. Ava was a member of Centerville Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Sue Short and husband, Mark of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Amanda Nied and husband, Tom, Taylor Short; great grandchildren, Braxton Nied, Madeline Nied and Emerson Nied; sister, Sue Loftin.
Ava was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, J.P. Taylor and sister, Marie Dickson.
