Maedeen Jobe was born in Alexandria March 23, 1941, the daughter of Walter and Frances (Anderson) Affeldt. She was baptized and confirmed in Calvary Lutheran Church and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1959. Following graduation she moved to Minneapolis where she worked for the Pillsbury company for 9 and one half years. returning to Alexandria she worked at the Carlson Dairy and Echo Printing before her marriage to Paul Jobe. She was a very active member of Calvary Lutheran church as she was involved in the Sunday School program, her church circle, and was at one time supervisor of the Vacation Bible School. Among her hobbies she enjoyed to sew, knit and crochet.
Maedeen died June 27, 1983 at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 42 years. She is survived by husband: Paul Jobe of Alexandria; sons: Rodney and Steve Jobe of Alexandria; daughter: Kristene Jobe of Alexandria; mother: Frances Affeldt of Alexandria; brothers: Roger Affeldt of Alexandria; Marlin Affeldt of Fargo; sisters: Mrs. Odell Braaten of Starbuck; Mrs. John Novak of Brandon and Mrs. Ardyce Pantland of Iowa. Maedeen was preceded in death by her father and sister DeLette.
Funeral services were June 30, 1983 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minnesota with Rev. Marvin Larson officiating. Interment was in Sunset Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Donavan Affeldt, Royce Braaten, Bradley Braaten, Michael Patrick, Richard Patrick and Thomas Torstenson. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
