Mrs. F. Aue, Sr. Passes Away
Mrs. K. Aue, Sr., nee Susanna Dix, passed away at her home here last Friday afternoon at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 1 days.
Mrs. Aue came to Sioux Center with her husband and children in 1893.
She lived in the same home here for 42 years, the home built by her husband.
Susanna Dix was born at Lathum,Netherlands, on April 27, 1847. She was married to Mr. F. Aue in 1876.
Mr. Aue, Sr. preceded his wife in death 15 years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Aue had eight children, three of whom died in childhood or infancy.
The children still living are: Mrs. Feikema of Okaton, S.D., Mr. J.F.D. Aue of Whittier, Cal., Mrs. D. Hollebeek of Lynden, Wash., Mr. C, Aue of Orange City, and Mr. F.C. Aue of Sioux Center. Beside the children there are 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The Aue family left the Netherlands for Colorado in 1893 and in the summer of the same year they settled in Sioux Center living here ever since.
Mrs. Aue was member of the First Christian Reformed Church for 42 years.
Funeral services were held there Monday afternoon, Rev. J.M. Bronkema officiating. Interment took place in the local cemetery.
