One of five wives of John Scott, she was 21 and he was 35 when they married. Together they had nine children - she bore her last child at age 43. She travelled across the plains with the Mormon pioneers, first settling in Winter Quarters, Iowa, before making the long trek to Salt Lake City. Once in Salt Lake Valley, they settled on 160 acres of land in the Mill Creek area. The family build the Scott School and one of John's other wives was its first teacher.
