Christian Halderman's FATHER was Nicholas Haldeman Jr who was born abt 1718 in Canton Bern Switzerland and came to America about 1727 with his parents, Nicholas Haldeman Sr and wife Mary.

Christian Halderman served in the Revolutionary War under Capts Sampson Thomas and Samuel Roberts in Chester Co Militia and is recognized as a DAR patriot.

--Daughter Martha Magdalena married John Collinsworth 1809 in Preble Co OH.
--Son Jacob married Sophia Montel 1812 in Preble Co OH.

In a Preble Co OH history book, article reads:
"A huge red-oak tree has completely overgrown the grave of pioneer Christian Halderman, located on the Albert B. Flora farm in Sec. 33 and the marble slab for his headstone is wedged among the roots. The Haldermans were prominent among the early settlers of the township and considerable space is given to them in the 1881 history of the county. If there were any other burials here, nothing remains now to show such was true."

Christian's wife Elizabeth is probably buried here and possibly other family members.
