Mary Ellen Goolsby Robbins passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Fredericksburg, VA with her husband Randy Robbins in a motorcycle accident. Visitation is 5-9 pm Friday, May 15, 2015 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 10 am Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Rankin County. Services are 11 am Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial in the church Cemetery.

Mary Ellen was born on November 21, 1954 in Jackson, MS to Bobby Kipling and Dean Triplett Goolsby in Carthage, MS. She attended elementary school in Pearl, MS and graduated from Pelahatchie High School in 1972. She attended Hinds Jr. College and graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1976. She was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in her youth and young adult life. She was always involved in sports, including playing basketball at all of the schools she attended. She loved softball and played for many years. On May 4, 1997, Mary Ellen married Randy Robbins and she served the role as a Marine wife. She actively served the communities in which they were stationed, most recently being Quantico in Virginia. She was an asset to the Marine Spouses in all her endeavors. She served many roles in providing educational needs to the community and school at Grafton Village Elementary in Fredericksburg. She was loved by all the staff and students. Her kindness, gratitude and giving will never be forgotten.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her mother, Dean Goolsby Warren; father, Bobby K. Goolsby, grandparents, several cousins, aunts, uncles, and two brothers.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Niki West Adams (Shawn) of Pearl, MS, Kipling Wayne Goolsby of Fredericksburg, VA and Lindsey Brooke Robbins Heyland (Jon) of Peoria, Arizona; father, Russell Warren of Brandon, MS; brother, Mike Goolsby (Cathy) of Brandon, MS; sister, Vickie Lou Warren Flowers (Don) of Brandon, MS; half-brothers, Bobby Goolsby (Merrill) of Biloxi, MS and Joe Goolsby (Candy) of Flora, MS; grandchildren, Mason Randall Siegert, Hailey Heyland, Evelyn Heyland, Allyson Heyland, Riley Nix, Ashton Nix, Kabren West, Tatum West, Liam Adams , Jonah Adams and a number of aunts, uncles and other family members.

Mary Ellen impacted many lives. Her legacy will live on for years. She loved her family, friends and her biggest endeavors included the accomplishments of her husband, children and grandchildren.
