ASHTABULA — Wade Sherman Luce, age 88, of Woodman Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, while surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Sept. 20, 1926, he lived his entire life in Ashtabula.
Early in life, he worked with his father and brothers at DS Luce & Sons Greenhouses. He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1944, and was self-employed in Ashtabula County in the field of Architecture and Carpentry and owned/managed the businesses WL Remodeling and Luce Industries. He was a proud WWII Veteran, member of the Elk’s club, and enjoyed woodworking and drawing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas S. and Ellen N. Luce; and his two beloved brothers, Duane K. and Dallas N. Luce.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Doris J. Luce (Turner) of Ashtabula: two daughters, Rhonda (Donald) Feicht of Valparaiso, Ind. and Sherene Schanfish of Ashtabula: and a grandson, Benjamin Schanfish of Ashtabula, who was greatly inspired by his life and pursuits.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 12th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Philip Kachersky, of First Baptist Church of Jefferson, officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery, Ashtabula Township, with Military Rites conducted by American Legion Post #103.
Calling Hours will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of Service, at the Funeral Home.
