"Leonard Pitman, a resident of Elko for the past 19 years, died unexpectedly yesterday in Scottsdale, Arizona, at age 73.

"Mr. Pitman was born July 9, 1902 in Oxford, Kansas.

"Survivors include a son, . . .; and a daughter, . . . .

"Funeral services are pending at Burns Funeral Home."

3/29/76: "Pitman Funeral Wednesday"

"Funeral services for Leonard Pitman, Elko resident for the past 19 years, who died unexpectedly on Friday in Scottsdale, Ariz., at age 73 will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Burns Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Burns of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate and entombment will be in the Hall of Memory, Burns Memorial Gardens.

"Mr. Pitman was born July 9, 1902 in Oxford, Kansas, and came to Elko from Grand Junction, Colo. He was in the lumber business in Colorado, and since arriving in Elko had operated the Western Auto store here until retiring in 1970.

"He was an ardent fisherman and sportsman and had gone to Arizona to watch the major league baseball teams in spring training, which he did each year.

"He was a member of the Elks Lodge and IOOF.

"He was preceded in death by his wife in May, 1972.

"Survivors include a son,. . . ; daughter, . . ., six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren."

"Funeral services for Leonard Pitman, Elko resident for the past 19 years who died unexpectedly Friday in Scottsdale, Ariz., at age 73, were conducted this morning at Burns Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Burns of the First Presbyterian Church officiated and entombment was in the Hall of Memory, Burns Memorial Gardens.

"Pallbearers were Don Black, George White, Cecil Bohne, Frank Bogue, Al Morris, John Cahill, Dan Taelour and Bert Jones."
