Mrs. Bolen was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Waterloo.
She was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Loudon, Tennessee, to Charles Elbert and Frances Ruby (Miller) Monroe.
Surviving are six children, Doug (Patty) Terry of Kendallville, Wade Terry of Kendallville, Rita Deskins of Kendallville, Tammy (Kelly Smith) Philo of Kendallville, Lesa (Tom Perry) Bolen of Cloverdale, Ohio, and Charlie (Barb) Boleyn of Delphos, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar (Shirley) Monroe of Kendallville; three sisters, Susie Dyer of Crossville, Tennessee, Judy (Dan) Driver of Spring City, Tennessee, and Billy (Robert) Brown of Crossville, Tennessee; and her best friend, Linda Byers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Bolen; a son, Rickie Lynn Bolen; grandson; great-grandson; great-granddaughter; a brother, Elbert “Bud” Monroe; and two sisters, Ruth Wilson and Hazel Lemons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freewill Baptist Church, 2833 C.R. 27, Waterloo, with the Rev. Ron Stambaugh officiating.
Burial will take place in Sedan Cemetery in rural Waterloo.
