Mrs. J. Raphael Larsen, 60, longtime former resident of Shelley, died Sunday evening at a local hospital following a lingering illness.

She was born Dora Bradley May 24, 1893, at Moroni, Utah, a daughter of Amos and Lenora Rees Bradley. She spent her early childhood in Moroni and came to Shelley in 1908 after her mother died.

She was married to J. Raphael Larsen Sept. 5, 1911, and the marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple in January of 1913. The couple lived in Shelley until 1938, when they moved to Idaho Falls.

She was an active worker in the LDS Church, having held executive positions in the YWMIA, Primary, religion class and Relief Society. She was a visiting teacher of the Relief Society at the time of her death.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Goshen LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Lynn Schwendiman of the Idaho Falls Second Ward officiating. Interment will be in the Goshen Cemetery under the direction of the Nalder Funeral Home of Shelley.
