Carlos Herman Purvis was a veteran of World War II and had retired from Hunts Food after more than 40 years of service. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and was a member of Reliable A's.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dora Ann; daughter Debra Purvis of Davis, California; three grandsons, Carlos Purvis of Woodland, California; Justin and Jeremiah Purvis both of Alaska and one great-grandson of Alaska; two brothers, Daniel Purvis of Mobile, Alabama and Donald Smith of Sacramento, California; sisters Lois Tyree of Fair Oaks, California and Hazel Ruth McGhee of Mobile, Alabama; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Carlos Wayne Purvis.
