A.T. Woody, 87, retired carpenter of this city, died Saturday morning at his residence on Monticello Street following an illness of several months. Born in this county, he was a son of the late A.T. and Polly Davis Woody and had been a lifelong resident of Pulaski and Wayne Counties except for 15 years he was a resident of Indianapolis. He was a devoted husband and father, always interested in the welfare of his home and children and was a good neighbor who never turned away a friend in distress. He is survived by his wife; eight children; five step-children; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the funeral home of the Somerset Undertaking Company, the Rev. L.D. Fisher officiating and interment was in the City Cemetery.
