Lafayette died Tues., Jan. 24, 1978, in
Home Hospital where she was admitted
Dec. 10.
Born at Delphi, she was reared at
Delphi and Lafayette. She worked as a
nurse aide at Home Hospital for 26
years before retiring in 1974. She was
first married to William C. Davis, who
died in 1929 Her second marriage was
in 1933 to Wilbur H. Gunkle, who died in
1947. She was a member of the First
Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Robert W.
Davis of Lafayette and John R.
Gunkle of Gardner, Mass.; nine
grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
Services were Monday morning at
Lafayette with burial in Isley
Cemetery.
