Lillie Ayers, 11, daughter of M.W. Ayers, who live 15 miles north of Seymour on the Wichita River, while out burning weeds for amusement in the field 30 yards from where her father was plowing, was dangerously burned by her dress igniting. On hearing the child's screams, the father started to her assistance and had to chase her 700 yards before he could catch her. In extinguishing the flames from his burning child, Mr. Ayers was seriously burned about the hands, face and arms and is suffering very much. Dr. Burnett said that Lillie was dangerously and horribly burned from the waist, to the bottom of her feet, and says he cannot see any chance for her recovery
