Ilene Bright England, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at her home in Pocatello.

Ilene was born on August 14, 1925 in Downey, Idaho to Elmer Parley and Mary Emily Taylor Bright, growing up in the Grant area. She was the oldest of 3 daughters and 2 sons. Ilene graduated from Downey High School in 1943.

While she was working at the Downey Grain Storage, she met Miles Sumner England. They were married on October 12th, 1944 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. Two months later, Miles was drafted into the military and served in the Philippines during World War II.

Her mother passed away when Ilene was 21 years old and for a time her two younger brothers lived with her and Miles and their young family.

Ilene was a homemaker and mother of 10 children (6 sons, Mike, Steve, Jeff, Kevin, Doug and Brad, and 4 daughters, Cheri, Deb, Jan, Kathy), and assisted her husband in their paint contracting business. All of the sons worked with their dad at one time or another with England and Sons Paint Contractors. She taught her children to value education and community service with several receiving college degrees and two serving as mayors for the City of Chubbuck.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, and Young Women auxiliaries and was a faithful visiting teacher. She taught her children from the scriptures and by example. She also taught them to love the Savior and encouraged them to serve others.

She is survived by her 10 children, Michael (Linda), Steven (Ellen), Cherilyn (Thomas) Barnes, Debra England, Janette Whittier (David) Hansen, Jeffery (Cynthia), Kevin (Melody), Douglas (Melinda), Bradley (Terra), Kathleen (Dan) Luker, 48 grandchildren and 109 great-grandchildren, and a brother, John Robert (Bob) Bright.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, her husband, Miles S. England, a son-in-law, Kevin Whittier, twin granddaughters, Elizabeth and Erica England and a grandson, Adam Whittier.
