Norman Family Graveyard is located on Goose Creek Road, at Flat Creek, behind what used to be, in the early to mid 1850's, the John Finney Norman family farm, back behind the house, in Norman Thicket. Cattle and hogs have since knocked down the tombstones of John Finney Norman, his wife, Milly (Hubbard) and sons and that of his mother, Mary Ann "Polly" (Ray) Norman--whose tombstone only shows "P. Norman d. 1858". I tripped over the top "tip" of this tombstone, then dug it up and cleaned it off so I could read it. This was in Nov. 1997. Nearby neighbor (and Norman cousin) Jimmy Womble was with my husband and I at the time.
There is an error in Claude Ezell's book, History of Padgett's Creek Baptist Church, listing Ambrose Ray's sister, Mary, as his daughter, but this Mary (Ray) is older than Ambrose, so she can't be his daughter. His actual daughter, is Mary Ann "Polly" (Ray) Norman, wife of John Norman who died in 1805 SC. Mary Ann "Polly" (Ray) Norman moved to Flat Creek, TN, with her children, and with her widowed brother Hezekiah Ray and his young children, on the last wagon train of William Pearson about 1812 or 1813. Hezekiah Ray's wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Putman) Ray had recently passed away. Daughter of James and Joice.
Some people are mistaking the daughter of George Norman and Margaret Dodd who is Mary "Polly" Norman who married Edward Gore, as the Mary Ann (RAY) Norman, who married John Norman b. abt 1773 SC, d. 1805 SC, who is the brother of Mary "Polly" (Norman) Gore. (Brother and sister never married each other.)

Norman Family Graveyard is listed in the book by the Marsh's, in "Cemeteries of Bedford County, Tennessee".
