Services for Mr. Johnnie Powers will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with the Rev. Kenneth Murrell officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Monday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Powers, 93, of Alexandria died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 in Matthews Memorial Nursing Home.

He was of the Baptist faith and for most of his life he was a house painter and drove a school bus for the parish.

Preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Virene Lasyone Powers; brothers, Al Powers, William Powers and Jesse Powers; and sister, Pearl Pruitt.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 68 years, Roberta Powers; sons, Johnny Alfred Powers and his wife Betty of Deville and Michael Lynn Powers and his wife Felicia of Woodworth; daughters, George Ann Lohman and her husband Michael B. of Boyce, Cheryl Laverne Doyle and her husband Denny of Woodworth and Brenda Sue Powers of Alexandria; four grandsons, one granddaughter and one great- grandson.

Pallbearers will be Johnnie Powers, Michael Lynn Powers, David Chad Deville, Benjy Doyle, Clint Powers and Caleb Powers.
