James Lawrence "Larry" Tanner, age 78, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Oklahoma City. James was born July 16, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to Frank and Virginia (Harper) Tanner. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. James married Mary Belle Conner on March 31, 1983 in Durant, Oklahoma. James was an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA and retired in 1994. He was a Ham Radio Operator and was a member of the American Radio Relay League. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle (Conner) Tanner, parents, Frank Tanner and wife Virginia, brothers, Franklin Davis Tanner, Clarence Henry Tanner, Marvin Lloyd Tanner, Carl Dennis Tanner, Milton Eugene Tanner and 1 sister, Edna Mae Baily. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 10:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne with the Pastor Scott Horstman officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
