Mr. Moran bought the home place from the Greer family and lived here until his death in 1939.
A prominent member of the Grassland community, Mr. Moran served as a magistrate from his district for 39 years, the seat he vacated in the county court because of ill health was taken by his only son, Sam Henry who also served on the State Legislature.
In years past neighbors would gather at the Moran home to dance to the tunes of colored musicians. a portable floor owned by young men in the neighborhood was placed in the yard.
After Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moran died the property passed to their two children Sam Henry and Elizabeth Moran Ring. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Moran made their home here from the time they married in 1916 until he died in 1955 and here five children were born. It was sold in 1956 to the National Life and Accident Insurance Co.
