Mrs. Eunice M. Smith, age 85, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away September 13, 2009. She was born July 14, 1924 in Cleburne County, Al. to the late Albert and Ada Upchurch McElroy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her of husband of 46 years, Charles William Smith; sister, Willie Mae Hicks; and brothers, Ernest McElroy and Vernon McElroy.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of The Rock Baptist Church in Rex, Ga.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Barbara Brown, of Jefferson, Ga.; sons and daughters in law, Charles M. and Nancy Smith, of Tallapoosa, Ga., James N. and Beth Smith, of Conyers, Ga., and Donnie L. and Marla Smith of Fayetteville, Ga.; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; sister, Marie McElroy Powell, of Fruithurst, Al.; brother and sister in law, Billy and Hazel McElroy, of Tallapoosa; and brothers in law and sisters in law, Donald Smith, Imajean Godwin and Evelyn Smith, all of Fruithurst, and Corene Smith, Jane Smith, Hazel Smith and Elvin Hicks all of Tallapoosa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 12:00 PM from Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Eidson and Rev. Charles Munroe officiating. Music will be provided by Tina Cole and Harold McWhorter. Pallbearers serving will be Tim Smith, Andy Smith, Mitchell Smith, T.J. Smith, Jeff Baumgarner, Tommy Dean, Dalton Cole and Bo Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Julie Smith, Layla Smith, Tina Cole, Joana Baumgarner and Donna Burdette.
Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockridge, Ga. at 3:00 PM with Rev. Neal Cardwell and Rev. Steve Bingham officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
