Edward Ralph Chambers, age 76, of Pounding Mill, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born July 25, 1938 in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Paul Thomas and Mary Evelyn Day Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a member of the UMWA #1374.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley Baldwin Chambers; two sons, Eddie Chambers, Bristol, Virginia, and Michael Chambers and wife, Teresa, Richlands, Virginia; one daughter, Patsy Chambers, of the home; four sisters, Gaynell Horton, Swords Creek, Virginia, Maybell Cole, Jewell Ridge, Virginia, Bernice Nelson and husband Ronnie, Bandy Virginia, Carol Nelson and husband Clyde, Jewell Ridge, Virgina; three brothers, Rex Chambers, Homer Chambers, and Jerry Chambers, all of the Pea Patch Section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia; One grandson, Adam Chambers & wife Melissa of Bristol, one step granddaughter, Cecina Barnett and husband Jordan; one step great-grandchild, Kylee; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to convey a special thanks to Dr. Thakkar, Dr. Sami Jawad and their staff, as well as all the friends and neighbors of Mr. Chambers for their prayers and support for our family.
The Family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday April 28, 2015 at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday April 28, 2015 with Rev. Troy Lester officiating. Burial will follow at 1 P.M. Wednesday at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA.
