Samuel Kerr was born in Dunmurry, Antrim, Ireland to Robert and Matilda Foreman Kerr. They immigrated to Scotland in the late 1880's and settled in Johnstone. He was married first to Mary Ann McIntyre and when she passed away he married Margaret Ralph. He had eight children with Mary Ann and one with Margaret. Samuel was an engine fitter. He is buried with Margaret (Maggie).
