She was born July 30, 1923 in Little York, Illinois the daughter of Grover C. and Mary Jane (Everhart) Icenogle. She married Keith N. Brown on February 11, 1944 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2012.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Ferry of Henderson, Illinois; three grandchildren, Michelle L. (and Craig Genisio) McGee of Woodhull, Illinois, Kevin N. (and A.J.) Ferry of Monmouth, Illinois, and Brent C. (and Liz) Ferry of Austin, Texas; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Marion W. Icenogle of Fayetteville, Arkansas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and five sisters.
Norma worked at the former Admiral Manufacturing in Galesburg for 20 years, retiring in 1985. After retiring, Norma and Keith moved to Shell Knob, Missouri, where she was a charter member of F.O.E. #4155. They returned to the Galesburg area in 2006. Norma graduated from Plymouth High School in 1940. She served in the United States Navy during World War II, stationed in San Diego.
Norma enjoyed reading, riverboat gambling, and going to Florida every January
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Vincent Marolla will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is handling arrangements.
