Frederick L.W. Richardson ...
Frederick L.W. Richardson, 88, of 76 Crafts Rd., Brookline, architect and son of the late H.H. Richardson, architect of Trinity Church in Copley Square, died yesterday at home.

Mr. Richardson, a graduate of Harvard College, class of 1896, where he played for the varsity football team in 1896, 1897, and 1898, was a partner in the architectural firm of Richardson, Barrett [sic*] and Richardson from 1902 to 1932.

His late brother Philip was another partner in the firm. Mr. Richardson designed the main office of the State Street Bank and Trust Company at State and Congress streets, a re-creation of an old English banking house.

He also engaged in residential landscape architecture, and was known as a watercolorist and painter. In World War I, Mr. Richardson served with the American Red Cross in Europe with the rank of captain.

He married the former Anne Blake, who died in 1930. He remarried and leaves Mrs. M. Eliot (Smith); five sons, F.L.W., Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa., Francis B. of Charles River Village, Needham, Joseph P. of Brookline, David of Washington, D.C. and Julian H. of Beverly Farms; and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 12 noon in Trinity Church.
