Dillon - Walker E. Allen, 78, died Thursday in McLeod's Infirmary.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Dillon. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Latta.
Survivors are his widow, the former Kate Welch of Savannah, Tenn.; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Hodson of Chapel Hill, N.C., Mrs. Walker J. Laney of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Billie Kate Page of Dillon and Mrs. Lucy Barber of Sumter; and one brother, A. Lee Allen of Columbus, Ga.
He was the son of the late Elmore and Ann Maria Waters Allen and attended Guilford College, Greensboro. He served Dillon County as sheriff for 18 years and was judge of probate for 12 years.
