Seaforth, Ontario, Canada on December 17, 1850 and died January 22, 1926,
aged sixty-six years, 1 month and 5 days.
In 1875 she moved with her family to Illinois; seven years later to
Paullina, Iowa. Since 1914, she made her home in Windom, Minnesota. She is
a graduate of the State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught
for twenty years in Illinois and Iowa.
She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, and a charter member
of Missionary Society of the First Presbyterian Church of Paullina.
A brother John and sisters Jean and Mary preceded her in death. Survivors
include four brothers and two sisters, Miss Isabel Cowan, Messers. Hector,
Robert, Andrew and Walter P. Cowan of Windom, Minn., and Mrs. William F.
Scott of Paullina, Iowa.
Her body was laid to rest in the family plot in the Paullina cemetery, being
borne by six of her nephews acting as pall bearers.
