Doris Mabel Spangler,
daughter of Frank R. and
Minnie Mabel Stone Bachelor,
was born at Munden, May 21,
1901, and died at the Republic
County hospital, Belleville ,
June 16, at the age of 75 years
and 25 days.
She received her education at
the Belleville Public Schools,
and at Kansas State university,
Manhattan. She was a member
of the United Methodist church
of Belleville, and active in the
women’s organization known as
the Wheel. She was a charter
member of the Women’s
Federated club, Beta Delphian.
She moved to Belleville with
her parents in 1907 from
Munden and in 1920 she was
united in marriage to Nathaniel
S. Spangler. To this union were
born two sons.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, one brother, Albert
H. Bachelor, two sisters, Mrs.
George (Lucile) Falkner, and
Mrs. Paul (Frances) Washburn.
She is survived by her
husband, N.S. Spangler, of the
home; two sons, Robert R.
Spangler of Belleville, Donald
K. Spangler of St. Joseph, Mo.,
one brother, Dr. Frank
Bachelor of Salina, four
grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren,
five greatgrandchildren.
Funeral Services were held
June 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the First
United Methodist church of
Belleville, conducted by Rev.
Larry Dutton.
Interment at the Belleville
cemetery, Belleville.
