Buck was born in Battletown, KY on Friday, September 27, 1929 to the late Margaret Grace Greer Bennett and Roy Granville Bennett. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Tsuyako “Mitchiko” Shiraishi Bennett; daughter, Angela Faye Bennett; sister, Ila May “Katie” Bennett Riggs; brothers, Raymond "Doog" Bennett, and Charles “Charlie” Bennett.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War; loved gardening and taking care of the land; his favorite pastime was fishing; and he was an avid coin collector.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Jimmy) Lamkin of Brandenburg, KY, Sharlene (Dan) Boaz of San Marcos, TX, Tina Griffith of Louisville, KY and Betsy (Jim) Warman of Brookville, OH; sons, Otis (Stephanie) Bennett , Jr. of Brandenburg, KY and Ray (Carol) Bennett of Eddyville, IL; sisters, Gladys B. Taylor of Brandenburg, KY, Ina "Dell" (Don) Crawford of Battletown, KY, and Lora G. Carson of Brandenburg, KY; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon EDT at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Old Ekron Road, Brandenburg, KY 40108 on Saturday, April 25, 2015 with burial to follow in the Marve Bennett Cemetery, Battletown, KY next to his beloved wife. Pallbearers will be: Eddie Hockman, Dale Funk, Jeff Greer, Jerry Cole, Steve Taylor, and Johnny Walker.
