She was born in Kashibara Ashia-Cho in the Fukuoka Perfecture on the island Kyushu in Japan on October 17, 1930.
She is preceded in death by her father, Juntai Shiraishi and mother, Tsuru Hisaeda and her daughter, Angela Faye Bennett.
She is survived by her husband, Otis L. Bennett Sr.; daughters, Mary (Jimmy) Lamkin of Brandenburg, Kentucky, Sharlene (Dan) Boaz of San Marcos, Texas, Tina Griffith of Louisville, Kentucky, and Betsy (Jim) Warman of Brookville, Ohio; sons, Otis (Stephanie) Bennett Jr. of Brandenbueg, Kentucky and Ray (Carol) Bennett of Eddyville, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She retired from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after many years of faithful service. Previously, she worked at E-town Sportswear for about 15 years, and as a cook at Kathy's Restaurant and Doe Run Inn.She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since she was baptized on March 11, 1962. She was proud of her U.S. Citizenship that she was awarded in 1982. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and being an active member of her church. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and serving others.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Old Ekron Road, Brandenburg, Kentucky on September 17, with burial in the Marve Bennett Cemetery in Battletown, Kentucky directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.
