Death of Prof. J. C. Bunch.
The city was greatly shocked Monday morning over the announcement that Prof. J. C. Bunch was dead at the home of his brother, F. P. Bunch in this city, as only a few knew he was here. He came in last Saturday night suffering from pneumonia and he passed away about 5 o'clock Monday morning. Prof. Bunch had been principal of the school here a number of terms and was known as one of the best educators in this part of the state. He was a man of large experience and travel and for the past year or more he lived in New Mexico. He found the altitude too high for him out there, his heart being badly affected, so he went to eastern Colorado, but his malady grew and in connection with this he contracted pneumonia and his end came quickly. Besides his widowed wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. R. L. Masters and Mrs. A. W. Kennedy, both of this place. His funeral and burial will take place this afternoon from the Methodist church.
