Mildred Burnett, 75, of Springdale, died August 25, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born May 27, 1924 at Combs, Arkansas, the daughter of James Edward and Laura Simmons Hawkins. She was a member of Pleasant Street Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and seamstress. Her hobby was quilting.

Survivors include: her husband, Clyde Burnett of the home; two sons, Harold Burnett of Farmington and Larry Don Burnett of Springdale; one daughter, Marlene Freeman of Springdale, one brother, Bill Hawkins of Farmington; two sisters, Margie Beasley and Evelyn Burnett both of Springdale; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale with Larry Branum and Wylie Davis officiating. Burial was at 1 p.m. at Ledbetter Cemetery in Madison County.

Pallbearers were: Jerry Drain, Darrell Drain, Steve Drain, Mike Burnett, Dale Cleveland, Dale Davenport, Loy Davenport, Ray Corder, Gary Sparks and Brad Beasley.
