KAZOO SHIPBUILDER IS INJURED IN FALL
Albert A. Smith, one of the member of the Carpenters union who volunteered to work in the government shipyards, has returned to his home north of the city to recover from injuries he receive d more than a week ago when a scaffold broke, causing Smith to fall 20 feet.
Smith was employed at the Norfolk yards. He had been there about two months when the accident occurred. Several of his ribs were fractured and he received internal injuries. He will live.

PATIENT SUICIDES BY HANGING SELF
ALBERT SMITH ENDS LIFE AT KALAMAZOO STATE HOSPITAL TUESDAY NIGHT.
Albert Smith of this city, who had been an inmate of Kalamazoo State hospital for a few weeks, committed suicide at the institution Tuesday night. His body was discovered about 9 o'clock by an attendant who was making the evening, rounds. Mr. Smith several months ago went to Norfolk, Va. where he engaged in government work as a carpenter in the construction of buildings at that point. In February he fell from a scaffold, striking on his head and producing concussion of the brain. He was placed in the hospital at Norfolk, where he remained about two weeks and was then sent back to Kalamazoo. Shortly after reaching home, it became apparent that as the result of his injuries his mind was affected and he was admitted to Kalamazoo State hospital. He had been despondent over his own condition. Watching his opportunity Tuesday night, he formed a rope from a bed sheet with which he hung himself. Mr. Smith leaves his wife and three children. Funeral will be held from Goodale's chapel at 9:90 o'clock Friday morning, Rev, F. E. George officiating, Burial In Riverside cemetery.
