Spring Hope Enterprise: Margaret Mangum Pridgen, 85 years old, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on April 15, 2015 at Carmel Hills retirement center in Charlotte, N.C. She was born in Nash county North Carolina one of 11 brothers and sisters. She lived in Spring Hope, NC for most of her life, only moving to Charlotte a little over a year ago to be near family. Many people will remember her as a beautiful godly woman with a quiet gentle spirit. She was a loving mother to her son Michael (Susan) and daughter Jeannette (Van), five granddaughters, and 14 great-grandchildren. Margaret was a loving wife of 63 years to James (Doodle) Pridgen, faithful church member, deaconess, and choir member at Ephesus Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always offered encouragement and a listening ear. She has left a fine example of how to live by her words and her actions. Now she can rest in peace. This is not the end but the beginning, for our comfort lies in the truth..."Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord" (Revelation 14:13). "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning or crying, nor pain anymore for the former things have passed away" (Rev. 21:4). Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Ephesus Baptist Church in Spring Hope, NC and to Carmel Hills Retirement Center, 2801 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery in Spring Hope, NC. Cornerstone Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Pridgen family.
