Velva C. Clay, 79, of Bloomington, died Sunday at Bloomington Hospital.

Born May 23, 1913, in Boblesville, she was the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Camp) Pfaff. She had worked for 19 years at RCA, retiring as an inspector. She was a member of the McDoel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Marlene Ruby Edward, Carol Sue Clay and Mary Drake, all of Bloomington; two sons, Clovis Clay of Bloomington and Duane Clay of Freeport, Texas; two sisters, Anna Chaudion of Cicero and Lelia Clay of Noblesville; one brother, Floyd Pfaff of Ellettsville; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Osbin Clay, in 1972; five brothers, Bill Pfaff, Delmar Pfaff, Noble Pfaff, Lester Pfaff and Francis Pfaff; three sisters, Edan Lee, Belva Pfaff and Donna Shepard, and one grandson.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Carter officiating. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call 2-9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
