"Pioneer 90 Looks Back" Celebrating her ninetieth birthday Friday Mrs. Ursula Lydia Platt pauses to look back at the 73 years that she has spent in California.

Mrs. Platt came to the Pacific coast in 1858 immediately following the first heat of the gold rush. She lived in San Francisco for a year, and then moved to Sonora where she married Benjamin Platt.

Her husband died 42 years ago. Mrs. Platt had crossed the continent many times. Once she came to San Francisco through Nicaragua and up the coast and another time across the isthmus of Panama. Mrs. Platt is a life member of the Ebell(?) club, a member of the D.A.R. and Eastern Star.
