Thomas Martin Aguilar, "Tommy", AKA "Pee-Wee" of Gary, Indiana, age 77, was received into heaven at 11:04 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015.

He was born on January 6, 1938, to the late Jesus A. Aguilar, Sr. & Josefa Martinez-Aguilar in Gary, IN.

Tommy was married on September 3, 1966, to Christine (nee Chavez), who survives, along with his son Thomas J. Aguilar, daughter Melissa Aguilar-Prieto (Ricardo), and three beautiful grandchildren, Isabella, Yinessa, and Noah, who were and always will be his pride and joy.

He is also survived by his siblings: Anthony (Rosemary), Joe (Carolyn), Maryann Torres, and Irene (Joe) Rosas, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews both in the U.S.A. and Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Jesus Sr., Robert, Paul, Arthur, and Daniel; sisters Francis Salazar and Jessie Gomez.

He was drafted into the US Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged, hired in at U.S. Steel Mill Gary Works, and retired in December 1999 with 44 ½ years of service.

A member of the U.S. Steelworkers Local #1014 and the American Legion Post 100 in Lake Station, IN.

He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN.

A mass of Christian Burial for the life of Thomas M. Aguilar will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station, IN, with additional visitation from 9:30 until the time of mass.

Committal services will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Thomas will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. May God grant him eternal rest.
