Dorothy St. John, 82, wife of Earnest St. John, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Providence Assistive Living in Grenada after an extended illness.
She was born December 9, 1932 to Rue and Mary Helm of Coffeeville.
She was a member of the Coffeeville Church of Christ as a young woman and then after she and her husband moved back to Coffeeville in 1998. She was Valedictorian of Coffeeville High School class of 1950. She later graduated from Freed Hardeman College in 1955 before retiring as a civil service employee. Dorothy will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will begin Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 PM at Coffeeville Church of Christ with a visitation prior at 10:00 AM, also at the church. Interment will be at Coffeeville City Cemetery with Bro Don Roberson officiating.
Ms. St. John had no children of her own, but had thirteen nieces and nephews with whom she kept in close contact.
She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ella Ruth Helm Perkins, Eva Helm Peters, Betty Helm Richey, and Mary Frances Helm Butts; one brother, Hershel Pittman Helm Sr.; one nephew, Herschel Pittman Helm Jr.; and her husband of forty-nine years, Earnest St. John.
