THOMAS "RED" HOCKIN

Thomas "Red" Hockin, age 101 went to be with the Lord, September 4, 2007 at Trinity
Oaks Senior Living Center, Pearland, Texas. Red was born on April 10, 1906 in Minot,
North Dakota and was a resident of Alvin for 96 years. He was boilermaker in the
chemical business, he also was in the house moving business for about 30 years during the late 40's through the 60's & 70's. Thomas Hockin was a charter member of the
Alvin Church of the Nazarene and never missed an opportunity to witness for the Lord. Mr. Hockin was an evangelical Christian and would never cheat anyone, curse, use bad language, or tell an off color joke. He practiced what he preached.
He was an inspiration to all who knew him. One of his Hobby's was gardening. His favorite thing to do, was to play dominoes with his long time friends and sons, when they would come and visit him. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Charles and Sophia Hockin, 9 siblings, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. .
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Hockin and wife, Jean of Alvin, Robert Hockin
and wife, Maria of Alvin, Margie Ward of Pasadena, Texas,
Tommy Hockin and wife, Martha of Pasadena, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren,
3 great great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Johnny Angel and Kenny Hockin Singing and Tommy Hockin at the Piano. Interment was at the Alvin Oak Park Cemetery.
