Leo Stanley Barnes, 67, Clearfield, Utah. Beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather passed away April 8, 2015 and peacefully departed this earthly life, knowing he had left a strong legacy. Leo was born January 30, 1948 in Ogden, Utah a son of Stanley Martin Barnes and Effie T. Thurgood. He grew up in Layton Utah and graduated from Davis High School where he played football and was on the wrestling team.

Leo served a mission in Ireland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He accepted many church callings and enjoyed serving those he loved. He was a member of the 19th Special Forces- Green Beret Airborne Unit.

Leo married Teresa Brown on June 19, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple and together they raised five children. He worked for Star Valley and Cream O Weber Dairy and also Thurgood Plumbing. He later became a Master Plumber and successfully operated his own company.

He loved spending time on his farm riding horses and working outdoors with his children. He spent many Saturdays racing homing pigeons with the Bonneville Racing Pigeon Club.

He cherished time with his family and adored his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley and his step father, Orval as well as his father and mother in law Raymond and Adair Brown. Leo is survived by his wife, Teresa and children: Lisa (Wade) Lake, Kristin (Greg) Smith, Clint (Angie) Barnes, Kadee (Nathan) Frew, Bryce Barnes and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Effie, and his brother and sisters Connie (Ron), SanDee (Merlyn), Alene, Bruce, Sandra (David), Peggy, Ellen (Mel), Randy, Sharon (Frank), Cindi (Trent), Stana (Alden) sister in law Jolene and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
