Katheryn Young, 36, of Perry, Utah, died August 12, 1978 of cancer.

She was born June 1, 1942 in Glendale, California ro Earl D. and Eva Adams Young.

She was employed as the associate coordinator of the Branch Genealogial Library in the LDS Church Offices in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was a graduate of Box Elder High School, where she was class valedictorian.

She attended Utah State University and graduated from Brigham Young University Magna Cum Laude.

She later obtained her MA Degree in German and Music from BYU. She taught German at the Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona then later worked as secretary at the German Department of Languages at BYU.

She completed an LDS Mission in the North German mission.

She was an accomplished musician and a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Her church activities were many and varied in all organizations, especially a organist and conducting choirs and as a teacher.

She is survived by her parents of Perry, Utah; two brothers: Gregory A. Young, Ogden, Utah; Dr. Stanford A. Young, Fresno, California.

Interment in the Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Utah.
