Virginia Arminda Green Beaty, 94, went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, April 1, 2015, at home.

She was born in Ellijay, Ga., on Jan. 22, 1921, to the Rev. Jesse Philip Green and his wife, Ethel Ellen Keener Green, as the fourth of seven children.

Her life was one dedicated to the Lord. She was saved at an early age and began to follow Christ at the age of 15. She held a Bachelor’s degree in English from Peabody College, which is now a part of Vanderbilt University, and a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

She spent all of her married life ministering alongside her husband, James. They went everywhere from South America to the Southeast United States. She will forever be remembered as a very Godly woman who loved her family and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

She is the last surviving member of her family, which included her parents and her siblings: J.P. Jay Green Jr., Imogene Ellis, Alice Cheek, Margaret Muggy Cantrell, Hal Green and Sara Nell Susie Miller.

She is survived by her husband, James M. Beaty; by her son, Mark U. Beaty and his wife, Jamie Charlene Pitre Beaty, and their children: Isaiah James Beaty and Carmen Camille Beaty; by one sister-in-law, Margaret Becket Green (wife of Hal); by various nieces and nephews; and a host of brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Friends who would like to do so may make a contribution to the James and Virginia Beaty Library Endowment at Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Westmore Church of God. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10 until the service time.

Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

You are invited to share a personal memory of Virginia or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com.

Companion Funeral and Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Beaty family with these arrangements.

I was blessed to be the niece of Virginia.
