Mildred Schaffer, a native of Allentown, died in the Gracedale Nursing Center, Nazareth. She was the first president and founder of the Bethlehem and Nazareth Chapters of World War II mothers and the Pennsylvania World War II mothers, She was also a member of the Dryland United Church of Christ, Newburg.

Survivors: sons Richard J. of Hecktown and Henry W. of Bethlehem Township; daughters, Lucille Goodman, Betty Zellner and Lillian King, all of Bethlehem, Sandra Eichenberg of Terra Verde, FL., and Cynthia Eaton of Largo, FL; brothers Franklin of Upper Nazareth Township and Harold of Allentown; sisters, Beatrice George of Bath, Lucy Roberts of Allentown, Helen Horvath of Allentown, and May McHugh of Breinigsville; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert, Sr., and her son, Gilbert, Jr. Arrangements: Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth.
